January 19th, 2010 General Meeting Minutes

11/09 minutes read, motion made to accept, second made. No movie night in January, hockey night instead.

Lori: talked about change for Haiti fundraiser to start 1/25 and end 2/5

Jill: clothing drive was very successful. Kid’s clothes went to HSD clothing bank. They are always looking for volunteers there.

Mr. Bento received a $1,000 grant for the library, Ms. Durant and Mrs. Schumacher also received grants

Mr. Meyer: talked about stats from phone survey about early release days; Dibels and MAPS still going on

We all played an M&M game, first on our own and then as a group. Better TOGETHER!!

2010-2011 Fundraisers and programs brainstorm

Ideas: dinners out once/month, sell coffee, cookbook, Husky Hike Campbell’s labels and box tops also a good way to earn money

Auction: 6 volunteers needed for night of event- data entry, registration, cashier; these people would not need to buy a ticket and food will be provided
1/28 auction baskets assembled in the evening. If you have cellophane wrap, ribbon or baskets we could use them. Procurement: 2/5 is the deadline; the Tuesday before the auction a preview catalog will be sent home. Start looking to see what you want! There will be a PDF as soon as we send it to the printer, around 2/12.

Lori talked about teacher adventures; we have almost 100% teacher participation!!

Denise talked about parent adventures. A lot of fun items.

Treasurer report: see attached- proposed motion made, second made
Still waiting for $2,000 for ECBC

Carnival- talk about how to do the carnival next year. Should we do it as more of a fundraiser or keep it how it is? It was decided to keep it as it is, but charge $5/kid and you need a hand stamp for trunk ‘r treat, or pay $3.
